Research work is an essential part of the Belarusian- Russian University activities. Our University participates in eight state programs of fundamental and applied research.
The University Research Department comprises the Regional Common Use Centre equipped with unique research equipment and devices. It has allowed encouraging students, post-graduate and doctoral students to participate in the Center's projects, financed from the state budget, as well as economic agreements, agreements on creative and scientific and intellectual cooperation with businesses, organizations, educational and academic institutions.
The University has close links with many foreign companies and Belarusian enterprises.
There are a number of scientific and industrial laboratories at the University, including the Research and Technology Laboratory “Fiber-Optic Diagnostics” with unique production in the Republic of Belarus of modern endoscopic equipment for technical applications.
According to the Resolution of the Gospromnadzor Board (Department for Supervision on Industrial Safety) of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, the University has been recognized as the head organization in the field of welding and in training and professional development of specialists for welding production, non-destructive quality control, usage of explosion-proof electrical equipment and installations. To perform these activities, the research and production center “Operation and Testing of Major Hazard Installations” was founded at the University. It comprises certified laboratories equipped with modern facilities: “Nondestructive Control”, “Explosion-Proof Electrical Equipment”, “Jack Transport Machinery”, as well as the following laboratories: "Pressure Vessels", “Boilers”, “Steam and Hot Water Pipelines”.
The University takes an active part in international and national exhibitions, fairs and symposiums, including prestigious international exhibitions in Azerbaijan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Germany, India, Kazakhstan, China, Poland, Russia, Syria, Ukraine, South Africa. Numerous medals and diplomas were awarded to the scientists of the University for their scientific developments. Every year the University hosts international scientific and technical conferences and seminars.
The University has a publishing center, which annually publishes a large number of textbooks, monographs, collections of articles. The scientific journal “Vestnik of the Belarusian- Russian University” is issued at the University. The State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the Republic of Belarus included it in the list of journals for publication of the results of dissertation research. The Belarusian-Russian University provides a system of continuing training of highly qualified professionals. Upon graduation students are offered master's degree programs (9 majors), PhD programs (14 majors), and doctorate programs (3 majors).
Academic degree seeking applicants have an opportunity to defend their thesis at the University before two specialized committees - PhD and Doctoral Degree Assessment Boards.
The students who select the majors “Wheeled and Tracked Vehicles” and “Machine Science, Drive Systems and Machine Parts” are offered a unique opportunity to go through all the stages of scientific training: from undergraduate courses up to defending master's, PhD and doctorate dissertation.
