After graduating from the Mogilev Machine Building Institute in 1989, Andrei Kazansky worked as the Chairman of the Institute Trade Union Committee of Students, and in 1994 he was elected Chairman of the Joint Trade Union Committee of the Institute.
As the Head of the trade union organization, Andrei Kazansky paid great attention to the development of social partnership at the Institute, to housing issues and recreational, extra-curricular and cultural work among the staff and the students.
In 1997 A.V. Kazansky was appointed Vice-Rector for Extracurricular Work and under his leadership the system of extracurricular and ideological work was formed at the HEI.
Andrei Kazansky pays much attention to the development of creative abilities of students. The University has hosted many exciting events – the international festivals of intellectual games (since 1997); open festivals of popular songs (since 2001), festivals of contemporary, pop and sport dance (since 2006).
He considers it top priority to create conditions for students’ sports and recreation activities, and he himself has the title of Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus.
Andrei Kazansky guides secondary employment of students and deals a lot with the organization of students' voluntary construction teams.
A. Kazansky graduated with honors from the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus and took a course in Economics as a PhD candidate at the Department of Theory and Practice of Public Administration of the Academy.
He participated in international and national scientific and practical conferences and seminars, and has more than 40 publications on the state regulation of higher education and management of University extracurricular and ideological activities.
