Yury Viktorovich Mashin was born in 1980 in Mogilev.
In 2002, he graduated from the Mogilev State Technical University with a major in Construction, Road, Hoisting-and-Transport Machines and Equipment.
From 2002 to 2005 he pursued his postgraduate studies at the Belarusian-Russian University. After graduation, he worked as a laboratory assistant, an assistant lecturer, a senior teacher, an assistant professor. In 2008, he successfully defended his thesis and received a PhD degree in Engineering.
In 2009, Yury Viktorovich Mashin was elected Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of the university.
In 2018 he was awarded an academic title of associate professor.
On January 25, 2019, Yury Viktorovich Mashin was appointed First Vice-Rector of the university. Besides, he is an associate professor of the Department of Mechanics.
His research interests are reliability and durability of gears.
Yury Viktorovich Mashin has published more than 50 scientific papers and training manuals, including 22 scientific articles published in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. He has 4 patents of invention.
Yury Viktorovich Mashin was awarded Honorary Certificates of the Republican Public Association ‘Belaya Rus’ (2011, 2015), a Honorary Certificate of the Mogilev Regional Committee of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers (2011), a Merit Certificate of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers (2013). He received a commendation from Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus (2016).
Since 2018, Yury Viktorovich Mashin has been a deputy of the Mogilev City Council of Deputies of the twenty-eighth convocation of the Republic of Belarus.
