Born on October 18, 1967 in Mogilev.
In 1991 Viktor M. Pashkevich graduated with honors from the Mogilev Mechanical Engineering Institute with a degree in Physical Methods and Devices for Quality Control and was enrolled in the post-graduate program.
After finishing his post-graduate study in 1994, he stayed to work at the Institute first as an assistant lecturer, then as a senior lecturer, Associate Professor of the Machine Building Technology department.
In 1996 at the Institute of Applied Physics of the NAS of Belarus Viktor Pashkevich defended his PhD thesis titled Improvement of Means and Methods of Output Parameters Control in Mechanical Transmissions in the specialty 05.02.11 – Control and Diagnostic Methods in Mechanical Engineering.
He was appointed to the academic rank of Associate Professor in 1998.
In 2000-2003 Viktor Pashkevich studied in the doctoral program at the Belarusian State Polytechnic Academy (the Belarusian National Technical University).
He was a Fellow of the Presidential Fund for the support of talented young scientists.
In 2007 he defended the doctoral thesis titled Improvement of Accuracy of Machining and Assembly of Engineering Products on the Basis of Construction and Application of Computer-Based Learning Systems in the specialty 05.02.08 - Machine Building Technology.
V. Pashkevich was appointed Head of the Machine Building Technology department of the Belarusian-Russian University in 2007.
He was the winner of the 2008 Best in Profession Contest held in Mogilev.
Since 2011, Viktor Pashkevich has served as Vice-Rector for Research at the Belarusian-Russian University.
The main direction of his scientific activity is computer-aided diagnosis and quality control of engineering objects based on the use of learning systems of artificial intelligence. Within this area of study Viktor Pashkevich conducts research and development of learning hardware and software complexes for controlling the assembly of mechanical transmissions based on the parameters of kinematic accuracy, smoothness, completeness of contact, and their gap; systems for providing accuracy of cutting and abrasive machining; computer-aided systems for designing tooling equipment which ensure multi-factor optimization of structures on the basis of functional semantic networks.
The research results were implemented at the Minsk Tractor Works and a number of other plants, namely: Krasny Borets Machine-Tool Plant, Strommashina, Mogilevtransmash, Electrodvigatel, Mogilevliftmash, Mogilevkhimvolokno, etc.
V. Pashkevich is the author of over 170 publications, including 3 scientific monographs and 46 inventions, and the author of 26 educational publications, including 1 textbook and 4 teaching aids.
He has a number of official awards: the Diploma of the Belarusian-Russian University (2006); the Honorary Diploma of the Leninsky District Administration of the City of Mogilev and the placement on the Roll of Honor (2008); the Diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus (2011); the Honorary Diploma of the Department of Education of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee (2013).
