Igor S. Sazonov was born on March 27, 1951 in Mogilev, Belarus. In 1973 he graduated with honors from the Mogilev Mechanical Engineering Institute and got a degree in Engineering. He is a Doctor of Engineering (defended the DSc thesis at the Belarusian National Technical University in 2002), Professor (2005), Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation (2006) and Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Belarus (2011).
His life has been inseparably associated with the same HEI and Igor Sazonov has devoted all his energies to it. In December 1998 he was appointed Rector of the Mogilev Machine Building Institute, which then was renamed into the Mogilev State Technical University, and later the Belarusian-Russian University was set up on its basis. I.S. Sazonov is the initiator and one of the creators of the concept of the Belarusian-Russian University and its urgent implementer. Under his direction the Mogilev College of Architecture and Construction was included in the structure of the University in 2001, and in 2003 the Lyceum was opened with his active participation.
Igor Sazonov is Head of the scientific and pedagogical school "The theory and techniques of design of wheel brake mechanisms and automatic control systems of wheeled vehicles motion." The scientific team is investigating the creation of automated systems to control motion of four-wheel drive vehicles, systems stabilizing motion of road-trains, active vibroprotective systems and disc brake mechanisms, adaptive to active safety systems for automotive vehicles.
Igor S. Sazonov is the author of more than 200 scientific and academic publications, including 3 monographs and 1 textbook. Under his supervision two PhD and two doctoral dissertations have been successfully defended.
