BELARUSIAN-RUSSIAN UNIVERSITY STUDENT SELECTED TO REPRESENT THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS AT WORLD AND EUROPEAN ARM WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP-2021
More than 120 athletes from all regions of the country took part in the Arm Wrestling Championship of the Republic of Belarus among juniors born in 2000 and younger, which was held on April 10, 2021 in the Sports and Recreation Center in Nesvizh. The atmosphere was highly competitive, and it was difficult to predict the outcomes of the competition.
The athletes who demonstrated high performance were selected to participate in the World and European Championship and the Championship of CIS countries as members of the national team of the Republic of Belarus. Dmitry Stefanenko, a student of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering of the Belarusian-Russian University, took first place in the individual competition in the weight class over 90 kg, giving his rivals no chance of winning a competition. Dmitry demonstrated diligence and hard work and was selected to participate in the world-class competitions. On the one hand, it is a great accomplishment; on the other, it involves great responsibility, as he will represent our country at international level.
In addition, Yuri Biriukov, a student of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering of the Belarusian-Russian University, took third place in the individual competition in the weight class up to 60 kg. In the team competition among sports clubs and amateur sports teams, the team of the Belarusian-Russian University took third place.
