The team of the Belarusian-Russian University took part in the final of the 4th Republican Civil-Patriotic Marathon “Together for a strong and prosperous Belarus!” The Marathon included two stages: the qualifying round, which took place remotely, and the final round held in person. The final of the Marathon was hosted by the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University from 4 to 6 May, 2021. The Belarusian-Russian University team had been preparing for the competition for two months. In the qualifying round, the BRU team submitted several projects for participation in the photo contest “To the Glory of the Great Victory”, the essay “My Family” for the essay contest “Together in defence of life, morals and family values”, the poster “Unconquered Mogilev” for the contest dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the video “Volunteering: helping others, helping yourself” for the contest “Youth of Belarus”.
The university team demonstrated good results and qualified for the final round, which was attended by 13 leading institutions of higher education of the Republic of Belarus. In the final of the Marathon, the students participated in a number of contests: the Intellectual Game “I Know Everything about Belarus”, the Free Creative Competition, the Bread Baking Competition “Hot Bread”, the Best Birdhouse Contest, “Healthy Me, Healthy Nation” contest, the military-sports relay, the contest of creative presentations about the universities and debates.
According to the results of the Marathon, the university team received the 2nd place certificate, the award certificate in the category “Ready to defend the Motherland” and the award certificates in the categories “The Best Bread-Making Technique” and “The Most Functional Birdhouse”.
The Belarusian-Russian University team received high marks from Yuri Karayev, Chairman of the judging committee, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus, Inspector for Grodno Oblast.
The university team was prepared for the completion by T. V. Protasova, Head of the Department for extracurricular activities with young people, and N. E. Korneeva, a specialist of the Department for extracurricular activities with young people.
