OPEN OLYMPIAD OF THE BELARUSIAN-RUSSIAN UNIVERSITY IN HISTORY
On May 2, 2024, the Department of Humanitarian Disciplines of the Belarusian-Russian University is holding an Olympics as part of the Mogilev Science Festival on the theme “To the 80th anniversary of Operation Bagration and the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.” The Olympics will be held online.
The purpose of the Olympics is:
- updating knowledge on the history of Belarus, the history of the Great Patriotic War and the formation of patriotism among high school students.
Students of senior (9-11) grades of all types of educational institutions are invited to participate in the Olympiad. The winners of the Olympiad will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.
Please note that the “essay writing” stage is at the student’s choice and is awarded separately with valuable prizes.
Those wishing to participate must fill out an electronic application and send it to the e-mail of the Olympiad organizing committee **olimpiada2024kaf.bru@yandex.ru. **
Registration for participants will be open from March 15 to April 25, 2024. The Organizing Committee registers participants in the Moodle distance learning system and provides each participant with a personal login and password, as well as a link where the Olympiad task is posted, using which participants will have access to the tasks.
Access will be open to participants May 2, 2024. from 8.00 am, registration from 8.00 – 9.50, from 10.00 – 13.00 taking the test and writing an essay (the time for completing the Olympiad tasks for one participant is 3 hours).
Thematic field of the Olympics:
- history of the Second World War;
- history of the Great Patriotic War;
- Operation Bagration;
- partisan movement on the territory of Belarus during the Second World War;
- underground movement on the territory of Belarus during the Second World War;
- occupation regime on the territory of Belarus and the genocide of the Belarusian people in 1941-1944;
- preserving the memory of the Second World War in Belarus.
Essay Topics:
- My small Motherland (village, town, district, city) during Operation Bagration.
- Operation “Bagration” in the historical memory of my family.
