More than half a ton of potatoes was eaten at the festival of national culture and the favorite dish of Belarusians ‘Dranik-Fest’ in Mogilev. On September 29, the ethnographic farm ‘Zelionaya Roshcha’ was absolutely packed with people. According to the most conservative estimates, more than 10 thousand people visited the festival.
Nine teams competed to make the most delicious potato pancakes and gave them out for free. Free tea was also available for everyone. The queues were enormous!
According to the results of the festival ‘Dranik-Fest 2018’, the team of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics of the Belarusian Russian University competed to make potato pancakes in an unequal ‘battle’ with professional ‘dranik-makers’, but nonetheless took 3rd place among 10 teams.
While some students of the Faculty were competing in preparing the most delicious potato pancakes, others were presenting the fields of study of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics to the visitors of the festival.
Students handed out booklets with information about the University’s courses, calendars; they invited the visitors to participate in career guidance aptitude tests, spoke about the benefits of studying at the Faculty of Engineering and Economics and at the University in general. There were some pleasant surprises for the visitors, they were presented with magnets and the children were offered cotton candy. The guests of the event could take advantage of having their photo taken against the banner of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics and getting a magnet with their photo as a souvenir.
The team of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics of the Belarusian Russian University express gratitude to the University administration for help and support in organizing the extra-mural career guidance event.
