The aim of the laboratory project is to master techniques and acquire practical skills of structural analysis and synthesis of spatial mechanisms based on robots and manipulators.
While working on the laboratory project, students design and assemble a robot using the VEX IQ Super Kit. This robot can be controlled with a joystick or programmed to operate autonomously. The kit includes more than 850 structural and kinematic components (including gears, rails, levers, rollers, wheels, axles), 4 smart motors, 7 sensors, a controller. Connecting elements and body components are assembled and disassembled without the use of special tools, which reduces assembly time and makes it easy to change the configuration of the robot.
The ‘Robot Brain’ controller provides the ability to connect an arbitrary combination of 12 sensors that can be controlled using firmware or program them independently using a computer and compatible software.
The laboratory project is performed by students majoring in 15.03.06 ‘Mechatronics and Robotics’, 27.03.05 ‘Innovatics’ and 1-36 01 03 ‘Machine Building Technology Equipment’, 1-36 01 06 ‘Equipment and Technology of Welding Manufacture’.
