PARENTS’ MEETING AT THE FACULTY OF CONSTRUCTION
A parent's meeting was held on November 24 at the Faculty of Construction. Parents of the first-year students were invited to the meeting. The event was held by the staff of the Dean’s Office: Olga Vasilievna Golushkova, Dean of the Faculty, Olga Mikhailovna Lobikova, the specialist responsible for ideological and extracurricular activities at the Faculty, Yuliya Aleksandrovna Gushcha, the PGS-181 group curator, and Olga Anatolevna Vorobeva, the AD-181 group curator. The meeting was held in three stages.
The first part was of a general nature; it was held in the assembly hall where the rules of evaluation of student academic performance during the exam periods were explained and the issues of academic progress during academic terms were specified, as well as the internal regulations for the University students were presented. Special attention was paid to conduct violations which may lead to expulsion. Competent answers were given to the parents’ questions.
In the second part, some extracurricular activities useful for students and the University were presented to the parents, and the first-year students showed off their talents. The third part of the meeting was held in the University classrooms separately for each student group by curators of the groups. The curators informed the parents about the students’ attendance and academic performance.
We recommend that parents be patient and students work hard.
