Professor of the Higher School of Technosphere Safety of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University delivered lectures to students majoring in engineering
Vasily Ivanovich Gumeniuk, a professor of the Higher School of Technosphere Safety of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, delivered lectures to engineering students taking courses at the Department of Occupational Health and Safety of the Belarusian-Russian University from November 27 to November 29, 2018.
The main scientific and educational activities of the Higher School of Technosphere Safety are as follows:
- emergency control and protection;
- occupational health and safety (areas of training: industrial sanitation and occupational health; the enterprise environmental safety; professional and technogenic risk management system);
- fire safety (areas of training: fire hazard of building structures and materials; fire safety of electrical installations and technological processes: medical and psychological aspects of fire safety; industrial and fire fighting automatic equipment; regulatory support of fire safety; algorithms for fire safety system creation and operation; low current safety systems; fire safety facilities).
Educational activities are carried out at the level of bachelor’s, master’s, PhD and doctoral degree programs. In addition, the Higher School of Technosphere Safety offers retraining programs in the area of study ‘Technosphere Safety’ for specialists with higher education.
The issues of reducing terrorist threats and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of public utilities in emergency situations were considered as well. In addition, methods for assessing the sustainability of objects in emergency situations of natural and technogenic character were discussed.
