INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE ‘BANKS AND FINANCE IN THE DIGITAL ECONOMY’
The International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Banks and Finance in the Digital Economy’ for students pursuing Specialist’s programs, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Department of Finance and Accounting was held at the Belarusian-Russian University on February 1.
The Conference was aimed at discussing the latest results of digital transformation of financial and banking systems and their impact on the Belarusian economy as a whole.
The Conference was organized by the Belarusian-Russian University, the Main Department of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus in Mogilev Region, the Mogilev Regional Directorate of OAO Belgazprombank, ZAO Alfa-Bank.
The conference was opened by Vice-Rector for Research Viktor Mikhailovich Pashkevich and Dean of the Faculty of Economics Ilya Ivanovich Makovetsky.
Research papers were submitted to the Conference by students of Belarusian and Russian universities: the Belarusian-Russian University, Mogilev State University of Food Technologies, the Belarusian State Economic University, the Belarusian National Technical University, the Belarusian State Academy of Agriculture, the Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, the Vyatka State University (the Russian Federation, Kirov), Bashkir State University (the Russian Federation, Ufa), Kazan State Power Engineering University (the Russian Federation, Kazan), Rostov State University of Economics (the Russian Federation, Rostov-on -Don), Belgorod State University, Institute of Economics and Management (the Russian Federation, Belgorod). The papers are available in the electronic conference proceedings at the university website.
The scientific event was attended by representatives of banks, teachers and students of the University. The participants of the roundtable discussed some hot topics of FinTech:
- The role of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus in the digitalization of the financial sector.
- Modern financial technologies in the development of non-cash payments in Belarus.
- Creating a digital ecosystem of the Republic of Belarus.
- Directions of bank development in the digital economy.
- Cyber threats to the business of banking in the digital economy.
- Blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies in the Belarusian financial system.
The conference was efficient and productive and became a landmark event for the scientific community of the region.
