The third (final) round of the OIIO-2019 Open International Internet Mathematics Olympiad was held from May 15 to May 17, 2019, at Volga State University of Technology in Yoshkar-Ola (the Republic of Mari El, the Russian Federation).
94 students from 56 universities and branches from all federal districts of Russia, as well as from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the final round.
The Republic of Belarus was represented by the winner of the first two rounds of the Olympiad, the student of BIOR-181 group of the Belarusian-Russian University Lev Liakhovich. The final round was held in the traditional form. The participants were given ten challenging assignments and 4 hours to solve them. The competition was held in several areas, Lev Liakhovich participated in Engineering and Technology Section for students of engineering specialties.
The Head of the Department of Higher Mathematics Vitaly Gennadievich Zamuraev was involved in the evaluation process as a member of the international jury of the Olympiad.
The participant of the Belarusian-Russian University performed quite decently: he took 34th place out of 54th in his area and won the national championship winner certificate. Unfortunately, this result did not allow Lev Liakhovich to win a medal and reach the super final of the Olympiad.
We wish our participants success in the future challenges!
