As part of the Union State project ‘Development of Educational and Scientific Activities of the Belarusian-Russian University Based on Innovative Technologies’, an EP-M250 industrial metal 3D printer developed by Shining3D was purchased.
This is an additive machine using Selective laser melting technology.
Selective laser melting or SLM is an additive manufacturing method that involves layer-by-layer melting of finely divided powder (usually metallic) material by using a laser.
Due to the technical parameters of the printer it is possible to print parts with overall dimensions up to 250x250x300 mm and a layer thickness of 0.02 to 0.1 mm.
Representatives of Shining3D and OOO 3DHUB together with the engineers of the Department of Machine Building Technology performed commissioning of the machine and provided training on the use of the machine to the staff of the Belarusian-Russian University.
Starting in September 2019, the EP-M250 3D printer will be used for research purposes and for training students majoring in Machine Building Technology, Automation of Technological Processes and Production, Mechatronics and Robotics, Equipment and Technologies of Highly Effective Materials Processing and Mechanical Engineering and Machine Science.
