On September 5, 2019, a delegation of the Belarusian-Russian University visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. The members of the delegation attended the opening of the exhibition entitled ‘1939. Start of World War II’ dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. The Belarusian-Russian university was represented by N.V. Vologina, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, A.V. Kulabukhov, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics, and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics.
The event was organized jointly by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The exposition based on materials from the Archive of Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation was presented by the museum in cooperation with the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Belarus. The exhibition reveals little-known facts preceding World War II. The documents cover the period from March to August 1939 and describe the relations of the Soviet Union with Germany, Poland, Japan, England and France from the moment of the partition of Czechoslovakia until the German invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939.
