On September 24, the Belarusian-Russian University hosted distinguished guests. The delegation was composed of Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation M. M. Kotyukov, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus I. V. Karpenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus D. F. Mezentsev, Deputy State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus D. B. Soloviov, Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee V. A. Malashko.
The Rector of the Belarusian-Russian University M. E. Lustenkov presented scientific schools, performance outcomes and directions of strategic development of the university. The delegation visited the multidisciplinary educational and experimental laboratory ‘Plasma, Thermomechanical and Welding Technologies’, the laboratory ‘Additive Manufacturing Technologies’. In addition, the visitors became acquainted with the capabilities and operation of the Laboratory of Production Equipment. The delegation members praised the unique educational facilities which enable the university to give an additional impetus to research and improve the effectiveness of training specialists for the Union State labor market.
The Ministers of Education of the two countries unveiled the memorial plaque dedicated to the participation of the university in the implementation of the Union State project ‘Development of the Educational and Research Activities of the Belarusian-Russian University Based on Innovative Technologies’.
On behalf of the university’s faculty and staff, Rector M. E. Lustenkov expressed gratitude to the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus.
As part of the event, a meeting between the delegation members and the university’s students took place. In a relaxed atmosphere, joint projects of the two countries and prospects for further integration in the field of education, science and culture were discussed. The students had a unique opportunity to talk to the distinguished guests and ask questions regarding some issues of interest. At the end of the visit, the guests signed the Visitors’ Book and left kind messages and wishes addressed to the university’s faculty and staff.
