Associate Professors of the Department of Occupational Health and Safety Anna Yurievna Skrigan and Irina Vladimirovna Shilova completed a continuing professional development training program at Novosibirsk State Technical University. The training period was from October 21 to October 25, 2019. The teachers got acquainted with teaching materials and scientific activities of the Department of Engineering Problems of Ecology and Occupational Health and Safety. They visited the laboratory of new materials produced from technogenic waste and familiarized themselves with the technology for recycling scrap tires as well as with the technology using bottom ash residues as components of ceramics glaze, building stones and paving slabs developed by the Department.
As part of the training program, the teachers of the Belarusian-Russian University visited the Center for Energy Efficiency and Energy Audit, Information and Analytical Center for Innovative Energy Development and the Department of Energy Supply Systems, where they had an opportunity to become acquainted with operation of modern equipment in the field of energy audit of enterprises, buildings and industrial equipment, as well as with work benches of the laboratory of renewable energy sources.
A.Yu. Skrigan delivered a lecture entitled ‘Control and Management of Emergencies at Nuclear Power Plants’ for fourth-year students majoring in Technosphere Safety, which raised great interest among the students.
The professional development training program at Novosibirsk State Technical University was intense and efficient, and its results will be used to improve the courses ‘Fundamentals of Energy Sustainable Manufacturing’, ‘Fundamentals of Ecology’ and ‘Fundamentals of Energy Efficiency’ for engineering and economics students.
