THE BELARUSIAN-RUSSIAN UNIVERSITY STUDENT SCIENTIFIC EVENTS OVERVIEW
THE 54TH STUDENT SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE
The 54th Student Scientific and Technical Conference was held at the Belarusian-Russian University on May 3-4, 2018. The aim of the event was to summarize the findings of the student research performed at the University departments in 2017-2018 academic year. The students presented their reports in 29 workshops. The papers of significant scientific interest will be published in the Proceedings of the 54th Student Scientific and Technical Conference of the University. The certificates of appreciation of the Belarusian-Russian University were given to the students who presented the most outstanding papers.
THE ANNUAL UNIVERSITY COMPETITION SUMMARIZING THE UNDERGRADUATES AND MASTER STUDENTS RESEARCH FINDINGS
The competition summarizing the undergraduates and master students research findings was held on May 4, 2018. Five faculties participated in the competition:
- Faculty of Electrical Engineering presented 5 projects,
- Faculty of Automotive Engineering –1 project,
- Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – 4 projects,
- Faculty of Construction – 5 projects,
- Faculty of Economics – 2 projects.
The winner of the inter-faculty contest of undergraduates and master students research projects for the academic year 2017-2018 was the Faculty of Electrical Engineering with a total score of 156. The Faculty of Construction took the second place position (total score is 106). The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering took the third place (with a total score of 33).
Three projects were awarded the prizes in the individual competition:
- 1st place – the project ‘System for runtime remote moisture monitoring of insulation of flexible polymeric pipes’ by V.N. Pochuyko, AEP-151 group, research supervisor S.V. Bolotov, PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor.
- 2nd place – the project ‘Control system for a self-propelled vehicle’ by A.V Taranov, an AEP-131 student, research supervisor V.N. Sitnikov.
- 3rd place – the project ‘Methods and equipment for determining the monitoring conditions of ferromagnetic objects with visualizing stray magnetic fields of defects on magnetic field viewing film’ by S.A. Borovikova, Al.S. Gordeeva, An.S. Gordeeva, BIOR-151 group, with a total score of 33. Research supervisors are V.A. Novikov, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, A.V, Shilov, PhD in Engineering, A.V. Kushner PhD in Engineering.
It was recommended to include the best projects in the ‘2018 Catalog of scientific and technical developments of undergraduates, master students, PhD students’ and to present them at the competition of scientific and technical projects of undergraduates, master students, PhD students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus.
