Aleksandr Libak and Pavel Novikov, students of the Faculty of Construction, represented the Belarusian-Russian University in the national youth innovation contest “100 Ideas for Belarus” after winning the regional stage of this competition.
The national contest was held in Minsk on March 2 and 3. All projects submitted for the competition competed in the following categories:
The students presented their project entitled “Ceramsite Concrete Reinforced with Polypropylene Fiber” in the category “Industrial and construction technologies and production”. In total, nine projects were submitted for participation in this category. In their project, Aleksandr and Pavel determined the optimal ratio of propylene fiber used as reinforcement in ceramsite concrete. So far, initial tests of standard prototypes in the form of cubes have been carried out. A characteristic feature of this project is the possibility to use production waste and improve the quality of ceramsite concrete. According to the results of the contest, the students received a finalist certificate of the national youth innovation contest “100 Ideas for Belarus”. The participation in the competition was a positive experience for the students as it provided an opportunity to exchange creative and innovative ideas.
The Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Construction congratulates Aleksandr Libak (PGS–162 group), Pavel Novikov (PGS – 172 group) and their research supervisor Yuliya Moskalkova, Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial and Civil Engineering, on participating in the final stage of the contest “100 Ideas for Belarus”.
We wish the students success in their scientific endeavors and hope that their project will be implemented in the construction industry.
