The International Performing Arts Competition #SYABRY-2020 took place in Minsk on May 16-17, 2020. The competition was held remotely.
Many festivals have been temporarily postponed; but the enthusiasm and creative impulse of our students cannot be stopped. The International Performing Arts Competition offered the students the opportunity to showcase their talents.
A united team of employees of the Department of Student Counselling and Development of Creative Initiatives worked very hard: they selected the repertoire, created appropriate images, built the compositional integrity of the performances and made videos. Dmitry Isaev and Yuri Blizniakov did an excellent job as camera operators using creative approaches to editing the video clips. Anna V. Alekseeva and Nadezhda A. Kuchkovskaya competently directed the song and theater performances and helped to highlight the most important moments. Lighting and sound design made each performance unique in its own way due to the talent of the “Dean of the Assembly Hall” Dmitry M. Shevtsov. Anna Beliayeva performed duties of an assistant director keeping her finger on the pulse throughout the entire video-making process.
First prize winner: Viktoria Kukharenko, who impressed the jury with her touching performance of the poem by Andrey Gurkov “A Girl from Blockaded Leningrad”.
