Students of the Belarusian-Russian University became prize winners of the 16th International Forum-Contest of Students and Young Researchers. The Forum-Contest “Topical Issues of Rational Use of Natural Resources” was organized by Saint Petersburg Mining University and the International Competence Centre for Mining-Engineering Education under the auspices of UNESCO. The event was held in St. Petersburg on June 17-19, 2020.
The competition was attended by more than a thousand participants and experts from 50 countries and 180 universities of the world including 65 young scientists from China, 64 from the Republic of Belarus, 46 from Ukraine, 33 from Germany, 28 from Poland.
The working language of the competition was English.
The Belarusian-Russian University was represented by the third-year students of the Department of Economics and Management majoring in Innovation Aleksandra Pankova, Ekaterina Kurzakova and Yana Khrebtovich. Yana and Ekaterina made a presentation “The conditions and risks facing the oil industry of the Republic of Belarus”, Ekaterina and Aleksandra presented a paper “The analysis of conditions and risk factors involved in the long-term development of the mineral resources sector of the Republic of Belarus” (scientific supervisor I. V. Ivanovskaya, Head of the Department of Economics and Management, scientific adviser Associate Professor N.P. Dragun, Ph.D. in Economics).
Aleksandra Pankova and Ekaterina Kurzakova became prize winners in the section “Topical Issues and Contradictions of Modern Society Development”. Their paper will be published in the collection of papers of the winners of the international Forum-Contest “Topical Issues of Rational Use of Natural Resources 2020”. In addition, the winners will be given the opportunity to take a short-term internship (7-10 days) in one of the leading universities and companies of the mineral resource sector of the Russian Federation.
