On September 1, celebrations dedicated to the Day of Knowledge took place at the Belarusian-Russian University. More than a thousand young men and women from all regions of the Republic of Belarus, cities and towns of Russia (Pskov, Smolensk, Nizhnevartovsk, Kaluga, Bryansk, Kostroma, Ivanovo and Kislovodsk) as well as from Cameroon, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan have come to study at the Belarusian-Russian University this year. Rector of the University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mikhail Lustenkov congratulated the first-year students on the Day of Knowledge. Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, a graduate of the Belarusian-Russian University, Ruslan Strakhar gave a short address welcoming new students.
On this occasion, Yuri Mashin, First Vice-Rector of the Belarusian-Russian University, and Olga Golushkova, Dean of the Faculty of Construction, were awarded certificates of merit for their significant achievements in research and teaching, professional excellence and a great personal contribution to the training of qualified specialists. Letters of commendation were awarded to Andrei Kazansky, Vice Rector for extracurricular activities, in recognition of his long and fruitful career, high professionalism, a personal contribution to the socio-economic development of Mogilev oblast, and Vladislav Lasitsa, a student of the Faculty of Construction, in recognition of his fruitful social activities and active citizenship.
Today, the Belarusian-Russian University is a prestigious and dynamically developing inter-state institution of higher education. For many years, the university has been preparing students for the world of work, and the university graduates are in demand on the labor market of the Republic of Belarus and abroad. Due to high level of expertise of the academic staff students gain extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience, develop practical skills and competencies.
