A joint session of the Board of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has taken place in Minsk.
From the Belarusian side, the rectors of the Belarusian National Technical University, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the Belarusian State Pedagogical University and the Belarusian-Russian University took part in the session of the Board. Rector of the Belarusian-Russian University M. Lustenkov discussed the main areas of cooperation with his colleagues and the representatives of the two Ministries. The rector had a personal meeting with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation V. Falkov. The visit of the Russian Minister to the Belarusian-Russian University is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021.
According to the international news agency “Sputnik. Belarus” Minister of Education I. Karpenko “believes that both Minsk and Moscow should consider the prospects for the development of the Belarusian-Russian University in Mogilev for the benefit of the Union State. The Minister highlighted that this is a ‘unique formation’, since this educational institution trains students according to the Russian and Belarusian programs.”
The participants also noted that the project “Development of educational and scientific activities of the Belarusian-Russian University on the basis of innovative technologies” had been successfully implemented as part of cooperation between Belarus and Russia. The program was aimed at improving the quality of engineering training and the efficiency of scientific research in Belarus and Russia; as a result, the digital environment of the university was developed, software and equipment were updated and educational and experimental laboratories were created.
