The Belarus New Year’s Eve Ball is one of the long-awaited events to which the best students of the country are invited. The meeting with Head of State, New Year’s decorations of the Palace of Independence, ball gowns, dance steps, new acquaintances – all this creates an unforgettable New Year’s atmosphere.
This year, Valery Sazonov (Faculty of Construction), Viacheslav Smirnov (Faculty of Engineering and Economics), Denis Kozlov (Faculty of Automotive Engineering), Anna Sukach (Faculty of Electrical Engineering), Angelina Kozlova (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and Kristina Tishchenko (Faculty of Electrical Engineering) danced the waltz with President’s Orchestra accompaniment.
On December 23, the Palace of Culture of the Mogilev region hosted the New Year’s ball for the talented young people of the region. The students of our university Vladislav Lasitsa (Faculty of Construction), Anna Stabletskaya (Faculty of Economics), Ilya Stanovov (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and Anna Sukach (Faculty of Electrical Engineering) participated in the event. A total of 24 couples were took part in the ball. A festive atmosphere was created by live classical music performed by the orchestra of the Mogilev City Chapel. This was the first ball for Vladislav Lasitsa and Anna Stabletskaya. “I had been very excited and afraid of having problems with dancing. However, the excitement had passed and everything was fine,” - said Vladislav Lasitsa. “The Krakowiak was the most difficult dance. It is quite fast, you need to change at each change in melody. During the rehearsals, I realized that nothing is impossible. The main thing is not to be afraid and believe in yourself.” Vladislav Lasitsa added that the ball was a real New Year gift. “I always try to move forward looking for my place in the world. I have taken part in the student team movement and have received some awards. But the ball was a completely new experience in my life. I felt like I was a New Year’s fairy tale character: all the participants were wearing suits and chic dresses. It was very impressive,” Vladislav said. “I participate in different activities and sports. I am a winner of various competitions, including international ones. I was very excited during the rehearsals, but I tried to enjoy every moment,” Anna Stabletskaya shared her impressions of the ball. “It was difficult not only at rehearsals - it took a long time to create an image. My friends helped me with that. It was very exciting.” (Interview with BelTA).
